L'Oréal 2024 Style & Colour Trophy
We are thrilled to share our participation in the L'Oréal 2024 Style & Colour Trophy, an esteemed global contest and the longest-running live professional hair competition. This year, the competition expanded its horizons by inviting digital artists to submit looks created with artificial intelligence, bridging the gap between traditional hairstyling and limitless digital artistry.
The Theme of 2024: Utopia
The theme for this year was "Utopia." Participants were challenged to explore the potential of the virtual world to stimulate creativity and achieve ultimate freedom of self-expression. The future is now, powered by tech. Flawless. Harmonious. Beautiful.
The Evaluation Criteria
The judging panel focused on three main criteria:
Perfect execution.
Creativity (Cutting-edge imagination, originality).
Elevated.
Our team at Koko Blaq embraced this theme with enthusiasm, showcasing the beauty and innovation of the new world. We crafted hairstyles that not only pushed the boundaries of traditional techniques but also integrated the futuristic aesthetics of virtual artistry.

Chanel – Look 1
This look was driven by harmoniously creating the viral trending copper, glass like finish and a veil of hair that cages perfection.
Chanel – Look 2
Chanel’s second look was to create the perfect salmon pink. The hair piece was created by using 1-2inch in length strands laying around a balloon shape and spraying gelatine and hot water, allowing the shape to set. We like to call it “hair mache”!
Chanel – Look 3
Chanel showcased the power of colour transformation with turning brunette to a beautiful golden pearl blonde in one sitting! Thanks to L’Oreal Metal Detox and Absolut Repair Molecular.
Tina
This traditional styling and colour with a twist of avante garde element, showcases a sense of harmony and tranquility as it takes you on a whimsical journey!
Maci – Look 1
Maci added in tape extensions to create length and create strong defined sharp lines for the fringe as well as the side panel. Hair inspiration was the perfect glass of red wine; the enjoyment of physical and emotional sensations to accentuate taste, aroma and aesthetic.
Maci – Look 2
Maci’s second creation was a razor hair cut and inspired by the 80s rock mullet flamboyance, playful and fun.
Natasha – Look 1
Natasha’s first look blended futuristic elements with artistic expression with contrasting colours creating a sense of otherworldly elegance. This style embodies a perfect, harmonious society where creativity and innovation flourish.
Natasha – Look 2
Natasha created a vision of a society where strength and elegance coexist harmoniously. This look represents a perfect balance of power and grace, embodying a future where individuality and innovation are celebrated.
Natasha – Look 3
Natasha’s third look was creating the current colour trend, MILKY TEA!
Olivia
Choosing copper and pink tones throughout the hair colour with a glamorous wavy style, Olivia was inspired by a desire to embrace boldness and individuality.
